The bay of Naples is a semicircular inlet to the
Tyrrhenian Sea. It
provides access to the Mediterranean sea for the largest trading port
in Italy.
It runs 20 miles from
Cape Miseno to
Campanella Point. The shores of
the Bay of Naples include the ancient cities of
Pompeii and
Herculaneum
which where destroyed when
Mt. Vesuvius exploded.
