British
independent movie released in 1999 about a
Pakistani father and the
British woman he marries and their lives and their family's life in the 1970's. Check out the
IMDB for the details on who wrote it, etc. While managing to be very funny at times, it's also a quite moving tale about the workings of a family seperated by
race and
custom.
Tolerence for your children also plays a big role in the movie as the father attempt to arrange traditional Pakistani marriages for his sons and alienates them one by one in the process.
Also happens to be the last movie I watched with my recently
ex-girlfriend, but that's neither
here nor there.
