Measuring is for sucks.
What, that's it? YES. Why get complicated, I ask you.
Start out buying good beans. They should have a good green color, and should not be flexible. When you bend it, it should snap easily. Buy as many as you need. Snap both ends off the beans (the ends are kinda stringy). Boil some water in a pot. Add beans. Boil for 1-2 minutes, depending on how done you like them. I like it almost raw, I usually boil around 1 minute. Immediately submerge beans in ice water. This helps to give them a bright green color as well as keep them from cooking more as they sit.
In a skillet, melt some butter on medium high heat. Say 2 tablespoons or so. Add some garlic. Garlic is good, add a lot. Cook butter and garlic around 2 minutes, until lightly browned. Lightly is the key, overcooked garlic is very bitter. Dry the beans well and add them in. Cook about another two minutes, until the beans are hot and well coated. Serve hot, sprinkle coarse ground sea salt over the top.
