A series of
paperbacks published by
Serpent's Tail, the independent
London-based
publisher, trying to resuscitate classic
noir novels written between the
1930s and the
1950s, and
psychedelic novels of the
1960s and
1970s. Since 1995 Midnight Classics has printed around fifteen novels by five authors. Sadly, a few of these are already
out of print both in the
United States and the
United Kingdom, and the rest should follow shortly.
Novels published so far, listed by author
- David Goodis: The Blonde on the Street Corner, The Moon in the Gutter, Of Tender Sin
- Gavin Lambert: Inside Daisy Clover, The Goodbye People, Running Time, The Slide Area
- Horace McCoy: I Should Have Stayed Home, Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye, No Pockets in a Shroud, They Shoot Horses, Don't They?
