Recursive Emulation is the act of
emulating some piece of hardware by more than one remove. For example (and I have actually tried this), you could emulate
Final Fantasy V, a
SNES game, by running
Final Fantasy Anthology, a
Playstation game, on
Bleem!, the
PC Playstation
emulator, running on
Virtual PC, a
Macintosh PC emulator, on a
G4.
(In case you are wondering about the outcome of my grand experiment, it didn't work. As is often the case, Windows turned out to be the weak link.)
