A recipe and a perverse drawn out play on words
The dark union of Miso and Seitan... will require:
Prepare the rice as usual and set aside. Set us up the broccoli by washing it, separating the stem discarding it and cutting the remainin head into florets. Dice the onion, ginger, and garlic (feel free to grate the ginger). Set all of the vegatables some place where they won't get knocked off of the counter.
Place the seitan into a small pot and add enough water to cover it, about one to two cups. Place the pot on the stove and apply a high flame. Next, start adding the red miso paste one dissolved table spoon at a time, until a desireable level of flavor has been reached. Bring the mixture to boil, reduce heat and let simmer for at least five minutes. Remove the seitan from the broth, and set aside. You may save the left over broth to make red miso soup, or just dump it out
Mix three teaspoons shoyu, two teaspoons sesame oil, lime juice and one teaspoon sugar together in a bowl. Whisk the mixture together throughly with a wire wisk or fork
Place the onion, garlic and ginger into a well oiled pan and cook just until the garlic has browned. Add the broccoli and seitan. Let the broccoli cook untill just right, it should be somewhat soft on the outside yet still crunchy on the inside. Add the shoyu mixture, mix well and remove from heat.
Serve the sacrament of seitan over rice
Oh miso horny! me love ewe long thyme!
