The first
Tintin book, published in
1930.
Plot: Tintin, a reporter for the newspaper Le Petit Vingtième goes to the Soviet Union to expose the Communist Party's oppression. The secret police attempts to assassinate him. He escapes and publishes his story, which apparently is very well recieved in Belgium - upon returning to the Gare du Nord airport a huge crowd has gathered to congratulate and welcome him. Journalists apparently enjoy a fair bit of fame in Belgium.
Unlike most of the other early Tintin episodes, this one haven't been subjected to massive editing to make it more politically correct.
