A three-
movement symphony in the key of C, once thought to have been written by
Franz Joseph Haydn, now more commonly attributed to
Leopold Mozart (father of the famous
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart). Performed with the aid of toy instruments (e.g. rattle and
cuckoo), it is also a "
toy" symphony in the sense that it is a rather trivial instance of symphonic possibility.
Unfortunately, Leopold didn't foreshadow his son's genius; Wolfgang might have been able to make the instruments produce something other than cacophony. As it stands, it's reminiscent of bad bleep-blorpy
electronica.
