My personal
Holy Grail of
ramen (and I don't mean that
instant crap), made all the more
tantalizing by the fact that I can never remember the name of it (we just called it
The Good Ramen-Ya), or where it is exactly. It's in
Machida somewhere, I think down the street from the Odakyu station, but the
other way, not toward Tokyu Hands. Kind of near that one restaurant with the
fugu sign out front.
The guy who runs it is this total
Zen Ramen Master type, with several lovely daughters who assist him. They have the best cha-shu pork you've ever had, I promise, and
gyoza with shiso leaves inside.
