Look around yourself at work. What cartoons do you see? It is my contention that if you see a lot of Dilbert, you may have a
dysfunctional office
environment. I believe the cartoons people put up on the walls, or where ever, indicate overall trends in the workplace.
The cartoons on the walls are there because someone felt an affinity for them. We like to see those ideas, images, etc. with which we identify, and if you identify with Dilbert, it is probably because you are frequently subjected to mismanagement.
The next time you go to an interview, look around. Consider what comics you see and what they mean. Do you really want to work with people who identify with Born Loser? Do you really want to work in an office where people regularly identify their bosses in Dilbert cartoons? There is more to those little images than wood pulp and ink.
