Read a poem
Of the senses
What do you remember?

A seemingly ridiculous
Team-building-ice-breaker
But I play along

And then I do think
Memories of my childhood
What do I remember?

Not so much a
Single memory
A single phrase:

Endless Wonder

This was my childhood
And is still my life
Endless Wonder

I remember seeing
The Milky Way
For the first time
That dock in
Old Forge
My first dark sky
Coyotes in the distance
Warm summer night
Stars forever

I remember hours
Wandering the woods
Alone with my thoughts
Catching all the critters
Examining all the growing things
Collecting interesting rocks

To this day
This is my life
Endless wonder, always
The Milky Way is still
Awe-inspiring
Looking for the smaller creatures
Appreciating the overlooked
Pocket full of rocks
It never gets old

Now I am privileged
To have a companion
In these adventures
Who delights in
Endless wonder
Appreciating the
Simple joys that
Make existing beautiful, and
Make the world less heavy
