I certainly remember the Apollo 11 moon landing in 1969. I was 12 years old and visiting my father in Detroit, Michigan. I think we watched it on TV either as it was happening, or shortly thereafter. I was a huge fan of the old TV show Lost in Space and I was so sure that by the 2000s we'd have spaceships going everywhere in space and maybe I'd travel to other planets and see all kinds of things!
I'm still waiting to take that trip.
