(idea)http://m.everything2.com/user/Old+Nick/writeups/Allez+Cuisine%2521Old Nickhttp://m.everything2.com/user/Old+Nick2001-04-24T13:38:21Z2001-04-24T13:38:21ZThis is what Chairman Kaga yells on the Iron Chef TV show to start the battle.

It doesn't really mean anything grammatically intelligible in French because it means "go" and "kichen", but I suppose Kaga thinks it means "Start cooking!"

Of course he provides an interesting pronunciation: "Ayaih queezeen!"

Was it Love, or Obsession? (person)http://m.everything2.com/user/Old+Nick/writeups/Was+it+Love%252C+or+Obsession%253FOld Nickhttp://m.everything2.com/user/Old+Nick2001-04-22T00:02:18Z2001-04-22T00:02:18ZFive months? God, lad. I was married for seven years. The world revolved around her. Everything about me was defined by her. I liked what she liked because I loved her. I disliked what she disliked because I loved her. We had a baby so she could feel complete as a woman while I was not so gone on the idea. But if she wanted to be a mother instead of the person I knew and married and loved, that was all part of it. I was willing to do whatever I could to help her be who she wanted to be. Turned out it wasn't my child. She divorced me, took the daughter (Elayne), cleaned the house out with a moving van while I was at work. Came home. Even most of my own bloody clothes were gone. I got a letter from her solicitor (Who used to be ours).

The terrible terrible thing?

I still love her. Bloody hell.

Is there a difference between love and obsession?

I don't know for anyone else.

But I'd say no.

Don't Shampoo Your Hair (idea)http://m.everything2.com/user/Old+Nick/writeups/Don%2527t+Shampoo+Your+HairOld Nickhttp://m.everything2.com/user/Old+Nick2001-04-21T23:52:08Z2001-04-21T23:52:08ZAs a pharmacist and a human being (the two can co-exist in the same point of space-time), I can only say, "Please please wash your hair." If you don't want to buy shampoo from my shop, that's fine. Use dishsoap. Anything. Rinsing your hair with water is as close to cleaning it as lighting a match to your cigarette will cook your cutlet. I have seen cases of cradle cap that make me cringe at the mere word "cradle" now.

Basically, the human body is designed to smell strongly and badly to help mark territory. We produce foul oils and nectars that perhaps only our cats and dogs can decipher now. They state our age, sexual potency, basic disposition, dietary prefereances et al. But our senses have dulled as we have stood straighter, donned trousers and skirts, and hired lawyers. So now we just smell bad.
There's a time and a place (thing)http://m.everything2.com/user/Old+Nick/writeups/There%2527s+a+time+and+a+placeOld Nickhttp://m.everything2.com/user/Old+Nick2000-07-27T10:10:30Z2000-07-27T10:10:30Z
Something people say when what they actually mean is "not right now".
