The general approach is to first call a target business to discuss advertising opportunities for the business and to glean useful information like the names of staff etc..

After some time has passed the blower sends an overdue invoice for advertising with a claim it was authorised by staff at the target business - they have their names so it must be true! Often there is no advertising actually placed in directories or other publications or the publications were never distributed.

If confronted a blower will often use hard sell techniques, intimidation and demands of quick payment in a hope to get payment for the non-existent advertising. The blower preys on busy workplaces where there might be some confusion, uneducated (or easily intimidated) staff and/or no clear advertising or bill payment procedure.

We sat outside and drank beer, wine and champagne and talked about our lives together, collective memories and good times (as well as bad). It was a great evening, enjoying the cool of a summers night. We also left open the sliding screen door of the house.

The night wound down and it wasn't until the last guest, in gracious form, had helped me clean up a little that I noticed that a marvelous assortment of bugs had gathered around the kitchen light. Mostly clinging to the kitchen ceiling - long ones, fat ones, strange ones alike flapping wings or crawling around. I peered closely, trying to minimise the glare of the ceiling lights.

My first instinct was to get rid of them. Spray them. Then I looked closer at their different features. What a marvel of God they were. Then i sprayed them and they all fell to the floor - momentarily in a state of epilepsy (as most modern insect destroying chemicals induce) - convulsing

…scone (thing)http://m.everything2.com/user/renster/writeups/sconerensterhttp://m.everything2.com/user/renster2002-06-15T02:01:53Z2002-06-15T02:01:53Z
Cheat's Scones

Here is a really simple scone recipe that works well and is quick. I was also skeptical but I made them and they worked out very well.

4 cups Self raising flour
300 ml Thickened cream
250 ml Lemonade

Cut the ingredients together with a knife. The dough will be fairly sticky. Pat out on a floured surface until 3 or 4 cm thick. Use a big circular cutter to cut out scones or cut to desired shape. Place on baking tray. Brush with milk.

Cook in 210c oven for 12-15minutes or until lightly brown on top.

It starts near Buna and Gona on the north coast of Papua led easily up slopes to Kokoda to the south. Kokoda stands on a small plateau some 400 metres above sea level and is surrounded by mountains rising above 2,000 metres. The Kokoda track was formed by gold miners during the 1890's moving from Port Moresby to the gold fields of Yodda and Kokoda. The Kokoda track is significant in Australian history because of the events surrounding the Battle of Isurava.

"Between Kokoda and Ilolo (a village a short distance to the south of kokoda), the track often climbed up gradients so steep that it was heartbreaking labor for burdened men (often carrying packs of 40kgs) to climb even a few hundred yards.
The Battle of Isurava by all accounts stands as a truly remarkable story of the mythical grit, courage and tenacity of Australian troops. It also marks a desperate fighting withdrawal that stopped the momentum of the Japanese and bought the Australians some time in the Pacific Theatre. Most notably it is the only battle where Australia fought essentially alone in defence of it's own country. Isurava is located nearly midway between Port Moresby on the south coast and Gona on north coast of Papua New Guinea. The Australian forces were the first and last line of defence preventing a Japanese invasion of Australia through Port Moresby. Port Moresby was accessible by land forces via the 90 kilometre Kokoda Track that crossed the Owen Stanley Ranges. The Battle of Coral Sea in May and The Battle of Midway in June, prevented alternative routes, such as a sea landing on Port Moresby itself.

Tortured nodes seem to sit on the edge of two or more groups of thought. Various like minded noders sifting the node detritus.
