How do you ease your fears, clear your mind, and fall into and out of love in the span of a shower? When you say This is normal, people do this all the time and the answer is too true: Not when it ended because one was gay. I could eat an entire pan by myself, possibly in one sitting. I have fond memories of this recipe; it was one of my most favorite things that my mother made. She's finally passed it on to me, and it is everything that I remember; I hope you will agree.

That it has come out of silly Saturday mornings and into primetime, that it has admitted its dubious authenticity, and that it has skewed its audience about ten years toward senility have all led to its acceptance by the adult mainstream. Certainly it isn't high art, and it is looked upon with a certain amount of disdain by many, but it has come a long way from its place first as the domain of silly old men, and then of silly little children, a transformation in which Mick Foley played no small part.
So you've got a mixed track. It probably sounds pretty good. Hopefully, it's something you wouldn't mind showing to your friends and family and saying, "Look ma, I make music about killing hookers!" Or maybe that's just me. Whatever the case, it's likely that the mix you have now sounds good, but still not professional, still not polished. Ideally, this is the part where you throw some bread at the deal and send it off to a professional. Most of us don't have the golden ears or the know-how to make a record sound really good. But, since we're cheapskates (or just flat broke), let's talk about DIY.

There appears to be precious little information about the history of Melmac on the Internet, which is surprising: in the recent "retro" movement, Melmac dishware has become a hot item for collectors. A search for Melmac on eBay turns up many hundreds of items for sale, some of them selling for well over $50.

Anyone who remembers the 50s and 60s should have fond (or horrific) memories of Melmac in the kitchen. The younger among us who grew up in older houses might have the same memories; I grew up with a set of pea soup green Melmac bowls that are still in use today. As a material for kitchenware, Melmac was popular for two reasons: first, that it was incredibly durable, unlike china or ceramic; and second, that it could be manufactured in a wide variety of interesting colors
…Home Recording on a Budget: Mixology (idea)http://m.everything2.com/user/uncleozzy/writeups/Home+Recording+on+a+Budget%253A+Mixologyuncleozzyhttp://m.everything2.com/user/uncleozzy2002-03-27T01:38:38Z2002-03-27T01:38:38Z
Home Recording on a Budget

Muddy Waters

I've said this a thousand times before: our biggest obstacle is muddy audio. We will go to any extreme necessary to prevent this. This means that you will have to trust yourself and, to some extent, trust me during the mixing process. You may have a wonderfully lush guitar track laid down that you think sounds great, but which eats up so much sonic space that it refuses to play nice with your other tracks. This happens. But with careful EQ, you shall overcome. Keep in mind that each track is part of the whole mix, and has its sonic space to fill, and you'll be set. It helps, of course, to have golden ears, but it's not necessary.
