An old animation format used by many old dos applications. It was a 256 color format that had no sound support, however, some players allowed sound files to be associated with a .flc file. Most commonly generated by programs such as 3d studio and 3d studio max. Some attempt was made to revive it by trying to add a sound editor in a windows version, but it failed with programs such as powerpoint taking the spotlight.

The original .flc files were from Autodesk Animator. Obviously, it is short for flick.
