A romantic vision of
science, following the belief that a determined scientific mind can make anything possible. According to this vision, it is not so much that a
scientist discovers truth as a scientist uses the scientific method to impose a particular vision of
what the truth should be on the fabric of
reality. By the same token, a scientist whose theories just don't seem to work is obviously not trying hard enough.
In some ways, this can be thought of as the keystone of modern mad science, and is, of course, derrived from Thomas Edison's quote on the nature of genius.
In some ways, this vision is supported by a liberal interpretation of the theories of memetics.
