A very powerful and insanely beautiful piece of
Detroit steel, of which only 14 were made (combination
convertible and
Hemi engine).
In 1971 Plymouth changed the name of the Baracuda to simply 'Cuda, and all badges were changed accordingly. Other changes from the '70 model include the quad headlights, rectangular tail lamps, and the famous "gills" on both front fenders. The Hemi engine earned its name from its hemispherical head design and uniquely designed combustion chamber which allowed for higher compression ratio. Higher compression ratio=more power. The Hemi-equipped cars themselves are distinguished by their "shaker" hoods.
