At one time, the idea that data transfers at one megabyte for every hour seemed as natural to my newbieish soul as the idea that the sun moves across the sky once every day. Surely, other speeds were possible; surely there were people who used other speeds. But sitting at my Macintosh LC 2 with my 2400 baud modem.. well, the knowledge such things were possible helped me none.
