2600 magazine is devoted to hacking, not the atari 2600. It got its name from a frequency used by the phone companies to gain access to the switching boards (see 2600Hz tone generator). The magazine deals with everything from writing scripts in perl to its involvment in Government issues (decss for example). A very entertaining and informative read. One can find it at most bookstores, especially the bigger chains.
