Those of you who are (or were) Nintendo Entertainment System fans may
have heard of the Konami code, a cheat code that was used in a wide
array of NES games with lots of different (mostly positive) effects. A
slightly less known cheat code, which came to be known as the Nintendo
Code, consists of holding down A while pressing Start on the title
screen. In games that had this feature, this always took the player
directly to the world or course he or she lost in the last time.
