A bird
comes and sits on a crystal rim
And from my forest cave I
Hear singing, - Hafiz/Ladinsky

When the day
to day shook misery
until it rhymed the
self out of coherence

I was looking
at the sundown
overshadowed in a lake
the song came out
from the ashes
of this world

seeing the people
wandering amidst such
a great confusion
ordered like warehouse shelves
why can the eyes see
but the mind remains blind?
Life still sprung
even from the great
death of
the city

From the overpass nearby
overlooking
the lost
navigating
the bay, I drew
in a sketch
statues falling
in a great forest
