The A-7D had a very succesful record in Vietnam as a tough and very accurate attack aircraft. This single-seat aircraft can carry up to 15,000 pounds of external armament including bombs, gun pods and missiles. It also carries a 20-mm machine gun in the fuselage. All of the Air Force A-7Ds have been transferred to Air National Guard units. The Navy also flies the A, B, C and E models of the Corsair II as carrier-based attack aircraft.
