A.J. Foyt is an Auto racer; born in Houston, Texas. Foyt drove a miniature car at age four and midget cars at age 11. He began to race professionally in 1953. He was one of the most successful drivers in the Indianapolis 500 (the 500-mi, 200-lap race held in Indiana, started in 1911), competing in every race from 1958 to 1992, and winning it four times (1961, 1964, 1967, 1977).
