Αιγιμιος
The son of Dorus, the mythical ancestor of the Dorians, to whom he gave a legal system while he was living in the valley of the Peneus in northern Thessaly. When the Dorians were driven out by the Lapiths, led by Coronus, Aegimius appealed to Heracles, whose assistance ensured their victory. By way of gratitude Aegimius adopted Hyllus, Heracles' son, and gave him an equal share of the country with his own sons Dymas and Pamphylus, after whom the three Dorian tribes Hylleans, Dymanes and Pamphylians were named.
