Founded by Charles Dow, Eddie Jones, and Charles Milford Bergstrasser in 1882. Its name was changed in 1885 to The Wall Street Journal.
They didn't acquire their first printing press until 1884, and by 1887 the Afternoon News Letter was popular enough to get complaints that they were not able to publish fast enough. In response to this complaint, the founders installed an electronic news ticker.
