The Aloha Kitchen is a Hawaiian restaurant close to the campus of UNLV. I frequent the establishment at least 3 times a month for their Kalua Pig. As far as I know this is the only Hawaiian restaurant in Las Vegas and probably the only place in Nevada where you can get Kalua Pig. Owned and run by local Hawaiians this establishment holds the unusual honor of not failing. In fact they may be turning a profit, unlike every other food establishment surrounding the university.

There really isn't much else to say about the place. The food is really the only good part. The tables are wobbly and the chairs are uncomfortable. It's decorated like one of Gilligans huts and all the staff wear Hawaiian shirts, something I'm sure they hate. The service is a little slow, but the food makes it all worthwhile. You can check out the menu at www.alohakitchenlv.com

Come visit me sometime, I'll buy you lunch there.
