visual medium to
convey a story about the place of
mankind in the
universe. From our humble beginnings in the
prehistoric ages, to a
space faring future that we are still looking forward to a year before the actual year
2001, and finally the next stage in human
evolution.
2001 has very little
dialog for a
movie of it's length, and as such has to
communicate through the visual medium.
2001 succeeds in creating
awe and
hope for the future through
artistic expression.
