Start with a solved Rubik's Cube. Hold it with one side towards you (any side, it doesn't matter, just be consistent). Then perform the following set of symmetric rotations:

  1. Rotate the left side clockwise and the right side anticlockwise ("towards you")
  2. Rotate the top of the cube clockwise and the bottom of the cube anticlockwise ("to the right")
  3. Rotate the front of the cube clockwise and the back of the cube anticlockwise ("to the right")
  4. Finally, rotate the left side clockwise and the right side anticlockwise again.

In standard Rubik's Cube notation, this is

L R' U D' F B' L R'

The result is that, instead of nine squares of the same colour, the centre square of each side is surrounded by eight edge squares of a different colour, in a cool-looking kind of 'anti-solution'. It looks like this.

Place prominently on desk and pretend to be a Rubik's Cube guru. Or, do it to other people's solved Rubik's Cubes and watch them be amazed and extremely annoyed at the same time. ("That's cool, but do you know how long it took me to solve that? Put it back the way it was NOW...")
