Babylon 5 Season 1, Episode 8. Written by J. Michael Straczynski, directed by Janet Greek. Originally aired on March 16, 1994.

Primary Plot: Two mysterious men, Knight One and Knight Two, arrive aboard station and abduct Sinclair to try to uncover the truth behind Sinclair's missing memories about the Battle of the Line and the end of the Earth-Minbari War.

Commentary: This is a heavy, heavy episode. It's also the first one directed by Janet Greek, who went on to direct many of B5's first-rate episodes. This episode gives the first glimpse at what happened during the 24-hour period after the Battle of the Line Sinclair can't remember. By the end of the episode we know that Sinclair was abducted from his Starfury by the Minbari, tortured, interrogated, mind-wiped, and then put back into his ship--we just don't know why. This episode also has one of my favorite quotes from the series:

(In reference to why the Minbari surrendered at the Battle of the Line, on the cusp of victory)
Knight Two: Then why did they surrender?
Jeffrey Sinclair: I don't know--maybe the universe blinked, maybe God changed his mind, all I know is that we got a second chance!

The title of the episode, "And the Sky Full of Stars" is in reference to a line Sinclair speaks during the episode:

"And the sky was full of stars...and every star an exploding ship."
