Each time you make one of these burgers, you strike a blow at the heart of capitalism!

This is how you make one tasty hamburger baby!

Ingredients

  • One half onion, finely chopped.
  • One handful of breadcrumbs.
  • One egg, beaten.
  • 400 grams of mince.
  • Two cloves of garlic, finely chopped.
  • One pinch of salt, one pinch of fine black pepper.
  • One pinch of paprika.
  • One chilli, finely chopped.
  • Four hamburger rolls.
  • Four thick slices of cheese.
  • Four thick slices of tomato.
  • Two large gherkins, sliced
  • A splash of oil.

Method

  1. Fry the onion in the oil on a low heat until soft and golden.
  2. Add the chilli.
  3. Stir for a minute.
  4. Add the garlic, salt pepper and paprika.
  5. Stir for a minute.
  6. Remove from heat, and put the above mixture in a bowl, removing as much of the oil as you can in the process.
  7. Mix the fried onions etc with the breadcrumbs.
  8. Break in the egg and mix well.
  9. Now add the mince and mix all the above together.
  10. Separate the mince into four juicy lumps and mould them into fat round patties.
  11. Wash your hands.
  12. Fry the patties until they are really tasty (about 5-10 minutes on a medium high heat)turning every now and then.
  13. Decorate your roll artfully with the tomato, cheese and gherkins
  14. Put the patties on the rolls.
  15. Sink your teeth into some tasty burgers baby!

(Good with condiments, even better without Mcdonald's Fries).

Some comments on this recipe:

Mince is a mixture of ground up meat. I believe it is mostly cow. The substitution of ground up beef for mince would probably work well, and although I personally have never had ground beef, I believe it is probably extremely similar to mince.

In light of some comments by other noders:

  • Don't "press" the meat on the grill baby! This will squeeze out all the tasty tasty burger juices!
  • Buy the meat from other than a supermarket, and ideally a co-operative farm. Grow the flour for the bread yourself, and if you really want to strike at the heart of capitalism, burn down your local Starbucks. Moreover, become a vegan.
