Russian born artist (1886-1962). Like Vassily Kandinsky and Marc Chagall, Pevsner left his native country after the Soviet regime began to disapprove of modern art. Although more known as a sculptor than a painter, his painting 'Spacial Picture' is a sublime example of his presentation of sheer space and multi-dimensionality in an abstract way.

Pevsnerian space is not to be seen as the familiar medium in which human beings live and move, but space as it may be apart from man's peculiarities of size and physical senses.
