Bus station

First we exchanged glances, then smiles
then her music- (Enigma)- with mine-(Counting Crows)
then some talk about the summer,
what we did and did not do.

I did not catch her name,
then she stood up, leaving the bus for a stop not mine-
hesitating to make it clear she was-
unsure.
Slowly she leaned over and whispered in my ear
showering me with hair, perfume and anticipation

Kiss me once and never again

and oh the bitter-sweetness of that taste.
