Made from 1987 in the state of the art Osaka Breweries, it's one of the most dry beers ever, going well with sashimi and nigiri, but especially with sushi, complementing its delicate taste.

Aside from the normal ingredients, like barley, malt, and corn, there's also some rice in the mix. The beer is brewed with natural yeast, all of these giving the Asahi a clean taste and smell, and some fruitiness. It contains 5.2% ABV.

The beer as sold in Japan comes in a longneck 330 ml bottle, with a special plastic bottle cap, one that you can open safely and without much effort. In the rest of the world that Asahi is exported to, it has a standard non-twist-off cap.

Nowadays brewed in Rome by Birra Peroni and exported worldwide.
