Ideas for E2

Some ideas I have for improvement of the E2 experience.
Personal Links
A personal customizable nodelet complete with the facility for external links, like the one available on slashdot. This could make storing E2 related external links (like the ones above) much more convenient.

Reading List

A list of books I should probably read sometime in the conceivable future.
The 2001 Quadrilogy by Arthur C. Clarke.
2001 : A Space Odyssey -- Done!
2010: Odyssey Two -- Progress: ~32%
2061: Odyssey Three
3001: The Final Odyssey
The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams.
A trilogy in 5 parts:
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
The Resteraunt at the End of the Universe
Life, the Universe, and Everything
So Long and Thanks for all the Fish
Mostly Harmless
Catch-22 by Joseph Heller.
I have already (at least partally) read it, but would like to re-read it at some point.
A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess.
Preferably before seeing the movie, though this is unlikely. (Too late...)
Lord of the Flies by William Golding.
This is a book they typically make school-children read. I slipped through the grate of education. Should I be thankful and never let the thought of reading this book of my own accord cross my mind?
Alice In Wonderland (Alice's Adventures in Wonderland) by Lewis Carroll.
I can't believe I haven't read this yet! I read the first few pages and quickly lost interest. I should read it at a later date. Someday.
1984 by George Orwell (Eric Blair).
'Animal Farm' was for GCSE English, I guess I should give this one a spin too...
James Dyson, Against the Odds (Autobiography) -- Done!
Birthday presant. This book seems very familiar at times. I believe I read some detailed reviews/blurbs about it some time ago. Good thing I got it as a presant else I would never have thought to read it!
Fermat's Enigma by Simon Singh -- Done!
An okay read, though a bit simplistic. Simon Singh has a tendancy to dumb things down too much for my liking. The book give you a good edge on a broad range but never really gets down to any proper nitty gritty.
Catch me if you can by Frank W. Abagnale -- Done!
I've read a similar book before: Portrait of a Young Forger (okay so its not actually that similar, one is about fraud, the other is about survival) A good read and gives you some food for thought. Some very good quick thinking in there to keep you on your toes.
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey -- Done!
Read the book a while ago. It was an excellent read and quite powerful in some places. Oh, and everyone likes a happy ending. I am soon to watch the movie.
No Logo by Naomi Klein -- Progress: Done!
Seems to be an excellent book though I'm being awfully slow to get into it. From what I hear its packed with interesting facts and just puts down all those thoughts you've had in your head on to paper, with a ton of fact and research to back it up.

People with extremely high XP/Writeup ratios

30 C!

(idea) by asqui

The problem here is that, as no doubt others do, I tend to associate high XP with good writeups. At first thought anyways. But a soon as you think about it for a bit it doesnt seem all that plausable. I mean to get a 1:10 ratio of writeups to XP means that each writeup would have to be either cooled, or voted up to +30!

On the other hand, the other sources of XP are noding quests, and primarily voting for XP. All you really need to do is get a couple hundred nodes under your belt (not too hard when you directly paste 200 non-hardlinked nodes!) and start whacking in 50 or so votes per day... thats +750 XP per month!

That said I believe that there are two types of compulsive voters.

One simply votes votes votes to get rid of their votes and pile up precious XP as fast as possible.

vectormane seems to fall into this category for me. One of the first things he did was to node the entire Anarchist's Cookbook, with absolutely no hardlinking in any of the articles. This paste job currently accounts for over 50% of his writeups! The other 50% are completely useless, from what I've seen! (eg in his 70 writups since the cookbook paste job: cumguzzler, scat films, RedAssHole, revenge vote, every noder needs an insulting nodeshell!, The thing written in my Yearbook the most, 32, 2147483648, vectormane -- all very long, thoughtful, and worthwhile nodes...nope, no one-liner trolls...not at all) Watching his XP over time it has become aparent that he uses all his votes every single day without fail. His top ranking node is at +34, his fifth +7, his tenth +6 and his 20th is +3. Looks like a pretty steep fall off from here!

On the other hand, for someone such as datagirl, a high writup:XP ratio shows that she is a diligent reader who often finds the time to read around E2 and use all her votes. When she does node something it is almost always a briliant addition to E2, and worthy of a +1 if not a C!

Compare:
datagirl: 195 writeups, 1938XP, 70 Ching!s
vectormane: 292 writeups, 3747XP, 18 Ching!s (half of which are from the cookbook paste job)

Draw your own conclusions, I rest my case!
