VYSEHRADSKY HRBITOV

Overlooking the Vltava across from Prasky Hrad is Vysehrad, one of the oldest areas of Prague.

The cemetery at Vysehrad is in the shadow of the church of Saint Peter and Paul, and has many famous Czechs buried there. Some rest in the Slavin Tomb designed by Antonin Wiehl.

All the graves here are elaborate, towering structures. These men and women were beloved by their homeland. Most are artists or intellectuals.
