A minor character in
Robert Shea and
Robert Anton Wilson's gonzo novel
Illuminatus!. Atlanta Hope is the leader of
God's Lightning, a domestic terrorist group whose philosophy is a schizoid fusion of
Objectivism, the
Religious Right, and the
Ku Klux Klan -- even though it started as a splinter off of
Women's Liberation. Hope herself is mostly a parody of
Ayn Rand, but with Rand's affinity for
Aristotle replaced with a fixation on the obscure
Heraclitus. She is the author of
Telemachus Sneezed among other works.
Like many of the other characters in Illuminatus!, Atlanta Hope is an agent of the Bavarian Illuminati.
