The Atlantic Wolffish(Anarhichas Lupus)is similar to the eel with its elongated body and smooth, scaleless hide. It can reach lengths of up to five feet and is equipped with a fearsome set of teeth and vice-like jaws. This particular Wolffish is very rarely seen except when feeding. Its diet consists of numerous crustaceans and echinoderms.

North America is home to five species of the Anarhichadidae family. The Atlantic Wolffish is normally found between Massachusetts and Greenland, although a few have been spotted farther north. Coloration ranges from brown, purplish-gray or blue-gray. Stripes and blotches are common.
