Today I woke up at 9:30, after 9 hours of sleep (how nice). I cannot remember now what happened in my dream, but I am left with the impression that life worked out in the dream scenario perfectly, which is a good way to start the day (unless of course life is drastically worse than the dream, in which case it just serves to highlight how bad the current situation is).

While I didn't do anything of interest per se, it is interesting to note that today was good regardless, because I drank coffee. It amazes me that such a mild stimulant has such a dramatic effect on my mood, as this is not it's purpose and is not generally held to be one of it's effects (except perhaps in large doses). I don't believe it is any sort of placebo effect, because sometimes I'll find myself bouncing around in a great mood wondering why I'm in such a good mood only to realise later I had coffee (or some other caffeinated product) that morning. It doesn't matter how long I go without coffee, this effect remains as soon as I drink it again. Maybe this says something important about my brain chemistry (or am I just always tired?) but I don't know what that would be and have no clue how to find out. For now I'll just use this knowledge to salvage Mondays and at least make them a neutral day of the week, if not a good one.
