Once, I was producing a documentary for PBS on the National Space Society, of which Ben Bova is a member. We interviewed him for several hours on his thoughts regarding the future, alternative energy, asteroids as resources and humans in space.
The most interesting thing I learned during the filming was when we were getting shots of Dr. Bova typing on his computer. I was amused and astounded to learn that one of the 20th Century's most prolific sci-fi authors types entirely using only his two index fingers.
When I asked about this, he attributed it to learning to type during his formative days as a journalist.
Imagine writing an entire novel using two fingers.
