What greens are composed of, more often than not these days, on good golf courses. The Bermuda Grass was good if it never got too cold in the winter, as in a place like Florida. However, the Bent loves the cold weather. Keeping it alive in the Southern climes always posed a problem. Newer strains are being bred which require less attention, and this has made Bent the grass of choice in most of American golf. The golfer loves this because Bent has no grain like Bermuda or other grasses which throw the putt off line.
