The Berkeley Drosophila Genome Project (BDGP) is a consortium of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and the Drosophila Genome Center, which goal is to sequence the euchromatic genome of Drosophila melanogaster. In addition, they will provide a biologically annotated sequence of the genome. The BDPGs informatics group run the FlyBase in cooperation with the European Drosophila Genome Project.
The BDGP is working with Celera Genomics to complete the sequencing of the genome.
