The Council of Better Business Bureaus was founded in
1912 and is supported by over 250,000 local business members nationwide. It is dedicated to fostering fair and honest relationships between
businesses and
consumers, instilling consumer confidence and contributing to an ethical business environment.
It is supported by its membership of over 300 national companies and by 145 local Better Business Bureaus. They are all non-profit organizations funded by membership dues and other support. Some of the services they offer are:
