This creature was created in an Outland comic strip. Bill Gates of Microsquash Inc. (as it was called in the strip) and his minions were testing a new virtual reality helmet thingit, when there was a power surge. Bill The Cat and Bill Gates were then merged a single entity. I am not sure when this strip hit the newspapers; however, I have a book copyrighted 1994 with the strip in it.
