Boots Randolph is a man whose work you have probably heard without even knowing it was he.

He obtained the nickname 'Boots' from his father Homer, who in a stroke of genius, and presumably self homage, named him Homer. This caused some confusion in the Randolph household, and so his brother Bob nicknamed him 'Boots' presumably after the large chain of UK chemists going by the same name.

He is the saxophone player who, during his illustrious career has featured on records by such illustrious names as Elvis, Roy Orbison and REO Speedwagon.

He is also the man who recorded one of the world's best comedy themes, 'Yakety Sax', the music from the Benny Hill show.

Call him Boots, but don't try and enter him to buy some Nurofen and a Crepe bandage.
