Boundary County is the northern most country in Idaho and borders with the Canadian Border. The beautiful Kootenay (or Kootenai) river runs though it. Actually Kootenay is the the Canadian spelling and Kootenai is the American. The river is great for floating and fishing. The worlds record rainbow trout was caught on the this river several years ago. If you are visiting and are in to hiking be sure to check the Long Canyon roadless area. The Long Canyon trail in a fantastic hike and there are many other smaller hikes in the county.
