Brave Saint Saturn is an astro-rock/space pop side project of the popular Christian ska band Five Iron Frenzy. It is made up of Reese Roper (Vocals, Guitar), Dennis Culp (Guitar, Vocals), and Keith Hoerig (Bass). Resse started the band in 1995 to play songs that were considered too dark for Five Iron Frenzy. They released their debut album, So Far From Home, on June 20, 2000 on 5 Minute Walk records.

"Even though loss, alienation, loneliness, numbness and pain are reccurent themes throughout the album,
they are not dark for darkness’ sake alone.
'I’ve tried to show the redemption and peace of God through tragic things,' elaborates Roper.
"I think overall the lyrics are about... hope.'"
