The language of the Burusho people in the central valley of Hunza in the Himalayas. It is noteworthy for being unrelated to any language around it, or to anything else in the world.

The numerals one to ten in Burushaski are han, alto, usko, walto, tshundo, mishindo, thalo, altambo, hunco, toorumo. Higher numbers are built on altar '20' and thaa '100'.

A minority of linguists believe Burushaski can be connected with a few other language groups stretching from Basque to Chinese to Navaho in the so-called Dene-Caucasian phylum.
