1979 movie, meant to be a prequel to Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Directed by Richard Lester (of A Hard Day's Night and Superman fame), it depicts Robert Parker and the un-nicknamed Harry Longabaugh meeting and deciding to go into crime together.

The film doesn't have much of a concrete story; instead, it's a series of relatively historically accurate vignettes, such as visiting Ann Bassett, trying to go straight by not stealing all of the money in a safe or evading Joe Le Fors.

Butch and Sundance: The Early Days met poor reviews, but was nominated for an Academy Award for best costumes.
