A buyer's agent is a real estate agent who represents the buyer's best interests. They will attempt to point out any potential problems in a given property, and will try to get the lowest price possible.

The buyer's agent, however, still depends on sales actually taking place in order to make a living. Keep that in mind if you decide to use a buyer's agent -- they can do great things for you, and sometimes at no additional cost (by taking a percentage of the sales price, often at the expense of the seller's agent or the seller). They do, however, want you to buy a property.
